BYU vs Oregon State

We almost got blown away in Vegas last night!
Son J, the Cougar, his wife, Baby Z, Son B and his girlfriend, B, T and I crammed into our Expedition Tuesday morning at 5 AM and drove to Las Vegas for the Maaco Las Vegas Bowl featuring BYU vs. Oregon State.  OSU was ranked just below BYU (15th) and was picked to win by 2 1/2 points.  However, that was not to be the case!  We drove through a snowstorm in Utah and got to Vegas in time for the winds to pick up to over 40MPH by game time.  Here are some highlights -

Here we are after walking half a mile in from the parking area about to enter Sam Boyd Stadium.  Plenty warm...

Here's A with Baby Z.  He was toasty warm all night and hardly made a sound. A true blue Cougar!

He really wasn't sad!  He just has these cute chubby cheeks!

It was probably about 50 degrees at the start at 5 PM, but notice how straight out the flag is sticking.  With the wind blowing so hard, I'm sure we had to be near 10 or less with the wind chill by the middle of the game.  We were sitting on the north end - the end the wind was blowing from.  As the game wore on, everyone left for better, more protected seating.

Son, B with girlfriend, B.  She was such a trooper, putting up with all the Anderson craziness..

The most loyal of Cougar fans...

Son J, the Cougar, decided it would be fun to see how hard the wind was blowing.  Here he is at the top of the stands on the north end, leaning far back and not falling.

We left with about 12 minutes remaining in the game when BYU was leading by about 30.  Enough is enough.  It took about half an hour for me to feel my toes again!  It was a fun and fast trip!

The final score ended up being BYU 44, OSU 20.
And the University of Utah just beat Cal in the Poinsettia Bowl.  Way to go Mountain West Conference!  Who needs the BCS?
