One - Great - Day!

Anyone who reads this blog who is not familiar with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (of which we are members) might be a bit confused about why I titled this entry One Great Day.  Those who know our love of family, our devotion to the teachings of Jesus Christ (our Savior and Redeemer), and our belief in eternal life understands why being in the House of the Lord is so special.  "A temple differs from other houses of worship. Unlike chapels, the temple is closed on the Sabbath so that people can attend church and be with their families on that hallowed day. Temples are open for sacred work on other days of the week. A temple is literally the house of the Lord, reserved for ordinances of eternal significance. Those ordinances include baptisms, marriages, endowments, and sealings" (marriages for time and all eternity)

What happens in the temple?  Read this.

On Tuesday of last week, the youngest son of our six joined the rest of his family in the Mt. Timpanogos LDS Temple.  It was a sacred and joyous event!  There we all were together in the House of the Lord.  As a young mother I was worried about raising so many children, trying to prepare them for the world, give them enough of everything, but mostly self esteem and love and a faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.  We have been promised that by focusing on simple things like spending time with our children (Family Home Evening, Family Prayer), reading scriptures together, praying, attending our church meetings, our family would be strong and able to withstand the trials of the world.  It has not been easy and no one is immune to trials and tribulations.  We have had our share.  But we have been so VERY blessed!  And Tuesday was one of those amazing pay-back days!

Five of the six children have found loving and wonderful spouses that we have gladly welcomed into our family.  They live honest, good lives.   Four of our children have been blessed with children who are the MOST wonderful people on the face of the earth and my little BFF's!  The one who is not married and has no children (YET) has decided to take two years out of his young life to devote to serving others and the Lord.

On Tuesday, we all gathered together in support of him and to renew our covenants with our Lord.  It really was ONE VERY GREAT DAY!!!!!!
