We got to the track about 5 and found the grill smoking and yummy chicken sizzling.
You can see the grandstands in the background. One side is the dragstrip and on the other side is the oval/figure 8 track. We like the other side. Hubby, grandkidlets J, Z, S and M were all there. S and J, the 2nd Ute, J, the Cougar, M's mommy K, daughter M and husband S, the super runner each brought a side dish and we feasted for a while.
The grandkids, especially J the little Cougar, were anxious to get into the track. You could hear the time trials going on.
This is the "mini" race. These cars really look like cars from Disneyland. I don't know how full size men fit inside.

I think besides J, the little Cougar, M loved the races the most out of all the grandkidlets. One of his first words was tractor, so he's always loved vehicles. I bought all four kids little race cars but he had some of his own already!
Both times we have gone to the races this year, there has been some sort of gimmick race. This time it was called the trailer race. This race includes a car or truck and a trailer and is done on a figure 8 track. You have to finish with the trailer and lead vehicle to win. This one was the winner of the best paint job.
We sat in the family section but our family was probably the biggest!
J, the little Cougar, claimed my lap as his personal saved seat. We had a lot of fun together and I enjoyed the whole evening
I wish this picture was a bit brighter. You see a track that looks like a tornado tore through because as soon as the race started, the racers' trailers seemed to start falling apart and they ran into each other.
You can tell that Z was getting pretty tired by the end. These two both fell asleep on the way home.
I have seen the interesting characters that like races like this. I've seen many tattoos, mullets, $6 cups of beer and cigarettes. But you can also see families like ours who go there to enjoy each other and a little excitement. We certainly got what we paid for!
Everyone looks so good! What a fantastic family! Miss you all...
