J turned five and so it was time for his blanket. I chose BYU as his theme because this boy is not only athletically gifted but he also loves Cougar sports.
This blanket doesn't really have dark spots on it. That's the shadow from the window.
First I layed out the batting to be sure I have enough material. Then I cut the main color for the middle piece and the contrasting color for the sides. Sometimes I also put a piece of contrasting fabric on the ends, but with this one, I didn't have enough of the gold.

Then I make large letter using Microsoft Publisher's banner option. I cut out each letter, pin the letters to the fabric and cut.
Then I start stitching...and stitching...and stitching.
I tack it down every 12 inches using the buttonhole feature and stitch...and stitch...and stitch.
Then I pour myself a tall cold drink and take an Advil for my headache!
