We got to have Grandson J and his brother Z over while their parents had a night off in SLC on Valentine's Day. I made J some heart shaped pancakes - his favorite breakfast, but he'd never had pink heart ones before. He was happy!
Our new house! We closed on it today. Now we go back to the same kind of budget we had when we were first married until we sell the current one. Isn't it beautiful?!!!! I am so excited to get in there tomorrow and start cleaning it up. We will not move in officially until our current home sells, but plan to take stuff over a little each week until that happens.
The yard is not yet in and we'll need to get window coverings, but we're excited to have this new project. It's been fun doing all of this with hubby T.
The view from the huge picture windows in the great room. It really is a GREAT room! See the Mt. Timpanogos Temple in the background? On the day the picture was taken, it was kind of hazy, but usually it's easy to see and beautiful as the sun is setting and the lights are turning on. We'd love to someday buy the lot directly behind us so no one ever builds there. However, that's not something that will happen tomorrow. I don't think I'll be buying much of anything for a while!
This kitchen is gorgeous! We have high ceilings and lots of can lights. I'm not real thrilled with the bright white everywhere and plan to do some painting.
There's Baby Z and J in the great room with the kitchen island in the foreground. The grandkids love those little white "seats" at each arch. Granddaughter A, the actress, says that there is one for each kid in her family for time-out!
This shower is awesome! It goes several feet to the right and has THREE shower heads. I've never been so dirty I needed more than one, but hubby T is pretty excited.
This is the part I like best. The tub! I didn't realize it till the other day, but this one not only has jets and is super deep, but it has a light - underwater! And you can make the light red, blue, yellow, or psychedellic. When I look at this room, I feel like a queen.
This is looking from the great room to the front door. The door has this cool little peep hole door sort of like the one in the Emerald City in the Wizard of Oz. Remember that scene? Several people who have been to the house say that the front door is their favorite thing!
Looking from the front door into the great room. This staircase is cool. When you reach the top there is a "bridge." You can see it at the top. You can stand there and see into the great room or the entry. Our dog visited the house one day and loved that spot. She can lay at the top and see out the big picture windows at all that is going on outside.
There are four finished bedrooms, and a completely unfinished basement that we'll finish one day with more big family space. Eventually we'd like to do some beautiful landscaping out back and maybe even put in a pool. This room might have been used as a bedroom, but it will be our grandkidlet playroom. I'll sure miss my safari style playroom in our current house, but am excited to decorate this one. It has lots of nooks and crannies that will be fun for the kidlets.
Look at cute Baby M! He's such a happy baby and looks adorable in this winter hat. You should check out their blog to see more pictures of Baby M!
The second Sunday dinner in March. Eldest daughter, A, is so old now - 33! I hate how old that makes me! We also celebrated all of the March events including Grandson J's third birthday.
The best way for a three year old to eat chocolate cake, half naked!
Daughter M and Baby S spent quite a bit of time at our house last week. Here is Nana (me) with Baby S. We were both laughing.
We must have laid there for 15 minutes. S kept sticking her fingers in my mouth and I'd make noises. She would giggle and I'd do it again, repeat, repeat, repeat!
Baby S and her daddy, S. Superman S and his cute family have had an exciting month. He got a new job paying lots more than he was making, they celebrated their 5 year anniversary, they went to San Diego and came home with $2000 and a $1000 treadmill. He had put together a group of 5 elite runners to compete at a fitness tradeshow. They had to take turns on a treadmill that could incline to up to 30 degrees. The goal was to be the first team to virtually climb Mt. Everest -over 29,000 feet! They came in first! $10000 per team, $2000 per climber. The next day he won a treadmill by "climbing" the highest in 20 minutes. This guy just seems to consistently amaze me. I also think he's also on the good side of crazy!
Baby S LOVES strawberries!
I think this might have been her first swinging experience. She also loved that!
6:10 is now less than six hours away. I'm beginning to panic, so I'll close now and try to count something - but why do people always count sheep? Who thought of that? Sheep are stinky and dirty. They're only cute when they're lambs. Okay, I love lambs. I shall count lambs. 1 -2 - 3 - good-night. (If this doesn't work, then I'll google "counting sheep" and let you know what I discover:)
