The Question is...

Pretend that the Jeopardy theme is playing in the background...

The Answer is, "So that they can help me move 22 years worth of stuff from one house to another."

The Question, "Why did I endure pregnancy, childbirth, breast-feeding, potty training, teaching to read, sibling fights, adolescence, teaching to drive, $100,000+ each, times SIX?"

Okay, I must add that it really wasn't an endurance test, I have truly enjoyed my experience as a mother and continue to experience new "adventures" of motherhood.

I remember watching Little House on the Prairie and other pioneer type television shows and movies.  The parents had grundles of children and they all had chores that helped the family to survive the harsh frontier.  I used to think it was mean to make kids work so hard, milk cows, scrub clothes, etc. from the time when they were very small, but since have changed my mind.  I think work provides a sense of value.  It helps build character and does a host of other wonderful things.  I understand now that the contribution of the kids' work was absolutely necessary to the survival of those pioneer families.

Yesterday, I came to understand those pioneer moms a lot more.  There is NO way that hubby and I could have moved half the house by ourselves.  By the end of the night, my7 week post-surgery knee was swollen and throbbing.  Hubby's whole body ached.  And we only moved 1/10 or less of the stuff ourselves!  Thank-you, kids and grandkidlets SO MUCH!  Everyone did a great job.  You stayed with it till half the house was moved and the sun had gone to bed but you had not.

Notice how empty the storage room shelves are!
Son-in-law J, the Chef, who is still recovering from surgery to fix the bones in his forearm and can't lift a lot, made us a delicious meal of bbq'd pulled pork and all the fancy nacho fixin's.  He thought he made way too much, but we ate almost all of it!
Baby Z, the Speedy, enjoying some of our food storage applesauce and dehydrated food.
Daughter-in-law A, the Cougar, helping J-Bear.
Someday he will be helping his parents move their stuff and his parents will be so grateful!
Everyone contributed, even the grandkidlets helped the other grandkidlets.  J, the 2nd Ute, loves his in-law nieces and nephews!
Yum!
More Yum!
I do believe that television is a drug!!!
J-Bear wanted that guy to KILL that guy!
I didn't get pictures of everyone, but they were all there.  Everyone was important.  I love you all!
