It's just a fact!

I have amazing and wonderful children.

As I say my prayers I try hard to count my many blessings.  One of them is how terrific my kids are, how dedicated they are, how kind and helpful.  When they were little, I used to bribe them to do their chores, force them to get along, even making them sit side by side on the couch when they were mad.  I wondered if they would want to be together later in life.  Since I have only one sibling we are very different and live far apart, I hoped that my kids would find a way to like each other.  I think they do.  No family gets along perfectly, but I am so happy that they choose to spend vacation time together.  And I am so happy with the things they do day to day and the achievements they make.

For instance - Daughter K, who always wanted to be a nurse, is an administrative RN for children who require major medical help to simply live at home.  I admire her.  She is precise and compassionate, a loving mommy.  Her husband, J the BBQ'er wins awards for his awesome cooking skills and adores his baby boy.  Yesterday I ate some of the beef brisket he brought by spontaneously and it was so YUMMY I ate too much of it!

Daughter S has always been so concerned about others.  Although she didn't find a social worker job even though she has a degree in social work, she consistently uses her skills in that area.  She and her husband J, are a dedicated latter-saint young couple.  He is the Elder's Quorum president now and I know he will do his duty and magnify his calling.  They try hard to do all things right.

Son B was worthy last Sunday (his birthday) to receive the Melchizadek Priesthood.  He is planning to spend two years away teaching the Gospel, a huge chunk of his young life.  He has one of the biggest hearts of anyone I know.

Son J has turned into the kind of man who, if he doesn't know how to do it, will find a way, whatever it is. In that way, her reminds me so much of my dad.  He leads the young men as their President in his stake and is a fantastic daddy, often showing up with Big Boy J at our home while he does errands.  His darling wife, A, is a Super Mom,  Young Women President, works a few hours a week from home for a company, teaches her boys to hit a baseball (and more), finds a way to go running and fills her days with service.

Daughter M, even though she thinks she might not be a great mom, is one of the most dedicated mommies I know.  She has a teaching certificate but spends her time as a mom and homemaker.  She also tutors nieces or nephews and finds a way to do things like (with her team) WIN the Wasatch Back, 188 mile relay).  Her husband, S, the superman runner, is one of the hardest workers I know and is helping his new company grow beyond anyone's expectations, WIN the Wasatch Back (with his all -male team) AND put in a new yard while also serving as an executive secretary in his ward.

Daughter A helped me the other night with some computer program and business issues.  I was reminded of how intuitive and smart she is.  She continues to balance a demanding job from home and raise smart, kind, energetic children.  Her husband not only works full time (including travel), but just opened a dance studio with his business partner.  Together with their kids they are all performing in the AF City production of The Music Man this weekend.  We watched the dress rehearsal last night and smiled the whole way through.  They were ALL so GOOD!

Forgive me for sounding proud.  It's not so much proud as happy.  And blessed.  I am counting my many blessings and six of them are my children.
