Here comes the Sun and What I've Learned

For the really brilliant things in this blog, don't miss the wise things I write at the bottom of this blog!!! haha

It's over!

The Solar Tour is over and I am really glad.  The Utah Solar Association has an annual "tour" of homes and businesses that use solar energy to power them.  Hubby and his partners have built an educational solar park which was the location for the media event and educational tour (410 kids came).  It's about 200 x 200 feet and has all kinds of solar panels mounted on all kinds of roofs including solar trackers which are huge panels that rotate as the sun moves through the sky.  Here is an audio link that has the Utah Solar Association director talking about the event.

Here is a link to one of the newspaper stories which includes a picture of one of the solar trackers -

I'll post some pictures here when I get some from the office.

This project took months and months and hundreds of hours to complete.  It took up lots of Hubby's time and I displayed my Watercone, a solar water distiller which I am representing now.  You can read about it on our new Watercone website (which isn't even available to the public yet because this is the preliminary version of the site.)

This new venture will take the CEO of Mage Water Management and me (Vice President of Sales and Marketing) to San Francisco this week.  The past several weeks have been such a busy time for us as we do all the things associated with this business, do family things, and get a son ready and sent off to serve a mission.  It's been quite the triathlon!  Here's what I have learned -

1.  Nothing is as important as your relationships with your God and your family.  Nothing.
2.  If you ask for more strength from on high for the right reasons, you will receive it.
3.  Eating junkfood because you are busy is dumb.
4.  Children that require the most energy to raise are the ones it is hardest to see leave.
5.  Just because you work hard to keep your house nice for the public to buy doesn't mean you'll sell it, but you have to do it anyways because bigger weeds are way harder to pull out than little weeds and it's really hard to make dead grass look green.
6.  Dogs are a woman's best friend for lots of reasons - they don't get mad at you when you ignore them, forgive you when you don't take them for a run, warm up your side of the bed, give you dog hugs when you miss your son and understand everything you say (you can tell by looking in their eyes).
7.  I'm getting old because I'm starting to say stupid old person things like "It seems like yesterday when..." and "You'll understand someday..."  And now they really aren't stupid things to say.
