Swwwweeeeet!

Son-in-law J, the first Ute, is in partnership with a friend.  They run the Core Dance Studio nearby and love teaching everything from fairy tale ballet to adult couples ballroom date night lessons.  They purchased advertising space in the high school basketball team's media guide which also entitled them to performance time during halftime of a game.  Naturally one of the groups that performed were D and I's class.  You can tell that they both were the best in the group.
"I" is the middle girl and D is the middle boy.
Doesn't "I" have the best pose?
And look at how D moves those feet!
At the end, the crowd gave them a big round of applause.

The 2nd Sunday this month (you know, the day all the kids and grandkidlets come over to eat and play) was very sweet.  Yes, I went a little crazy with the red and hearts!

Son B, the missionary, has a darling girlfriend that comes over as often as she can, but not enough for us!  She has endured being introduced to artichokes, shrimp, crab, swiss chard, homemade sausage, and even spare ribs - things she had never had before!  The last time she was over we decided to stop putting her through the stress and asked her to make something she likes, some old-fashioned American food.  So she chose (wait for it, wait for it....) Navajo tacos!  Yes, that traditional American favorite (well, Native American) and we can sorta consider tacos American because they come from Mexico and Mexico actually owned Texas and California way back when.  She brought her sister with her and they created a delicious dinner!
Big Boy Z, who is now 19 months old was drawn to B, the girlfriend, like a magnet.  She obliged his every whim!
This month we celebrate eldest grandson, D's, 11th birthday (can you believe it?) and granddaughter "A"s 7th (in actuality she is only 1 because she was born on February 29th and there has only been one leap day since she was born:)  Daughter A made yummy cupcakes which her kids decorated.
Here are son-in-law J, the second Ute, and Z playing the flip-around-scare-Nana-to-death-but-don't-really-hit-your-head-on-the-floor game.  Giggles all around!
Big Girl S liked the chili that we put on the Navajo tacos so much that she decided to dump it straight into her mouth instead of using a spoon!

The next day was another special day.  Backstory goes something like this.  Nana (me) thinks about how important the kids and grandkidlets are to her and Grandpa (Hubby).  What can we give the kids and grandkidlets for Christmas that is more than just a present?  That is lasting?  That they would really like?  Answer - Family Home Evening with Nana and Grandpa!  It works like this.  Every few weeks the parents bring their kids over on a scheduled Monday night.  Nana and Grandpa have family home evening with the kid(s) while mom and dad are expected to do something that will enhance their relationship as a couple.  We all know that the best foundation for a happy family is a healthy marriage, right?

So, last Monday was Big Boy M's FHE with Nana and Grandpa.
He can now play the piano like Mozart!  (haha)  It's just amazing what a little unconditional love can do...
This little guy almost always has that adorable smile on his face.  He loves to wear hats (there must be something genetic about this because his daddy wears hats all the time).  Isn't he getting big?

Hubby had a long business trip after this, but before he left he was able to put his great ability with woodworking to good use.  Look how the cabinets by the fireplace are looking now.

Isn't that looking nice?  We still have plans to put rock on the fireplace, finish off the hearth real nice and put up more wood and a mantle above it.  Slowly, but surely our house is becoming like a home.  Thanks, Hubby, for your talent and hard work.
