Our Own Rocky "Mountains"

When we bought this home last year, we knew we were in for some work on the yard.  We were able to get the front done and it looks beautiful.
But the back yard is completely undone.  So, here is what's happened over the last few months to the backyard.  First, son-in-law J, the BBQ'r and arborist lead the crew in cutting down some huge cottonwoods that were dead on both sides of the lot.
A few weeks ago we finally got a crew out here to start moving back dirt so that we could extend the space for the walk-out from the basement.

This was the first phase of the Great Anderson Land Moving.  Note that the stumps of the old trees are still there.

We had the tractor guys dig up the stumps and this is what it left us - nice pine trees.
Here is how it looks now - not quite done, but looking good.

Now the view looking the other way.  This was the first day of dirt moving.

The first phase of dirt moving done.

And here's what it looks like now!

We have some nice flagstone steps in two spots
We plan to do something nice under the deck, put grass up on the right side of the house, some stairs to go down to the grass and eventually finish the Great Anderson Rocky Mountain all the way around the back yard and put a pool on the other end.  That's still quite a few years away!  But we are excited to get this part done.
