So, in advance, please forgive me for sounding prideful or puffed up when I report what happened this weekend.
My mom, "Grammy," lives in Lake Tahoe. She has been through a horrible winter with record snowfall and she has worked so hard. Then, her mother passed away and she spent many hours driving to her home 4 1/2 hours away, working with her sister and brothers to clean out her home. She needs to move to a more friendly climate. It is a very difficult thing, but this weekend she made great progress. She had cleaned out some things to sell and we had a garage sale.
I arrived a week before and my daughters arrived the day before. They left their husbands, their jobs and hardest of all, their children, to help my mom.
We did a few things besides work like go out to a yummy Mexican restaurant for dinner.
We walked across the street to the beach.
Grammy had brought things home from Nana's (her mom's). She let the girls pick things. I had already gone through them and gotten some choice items.
We set up ladders and poles for the clothes.
We put a lot on the grass.
K was great minding the store most of the time
The other girls raked 20 bags of pine needles. This job was something Grammy had just not had time to do this season.
Daughter M headed up the pine needle project and she worked very hard. Grammy will set out three bags per week or else she will be charged by the garbage company.
The girls wanted to learn how to make Grammy's yummy stuffed buns.
You wrap them just "so" with foil and bake them in the oven
The weather was perfect the whole time the girls were there and we ate outside.
There were many light-hearted times where we all had fun!
I just don't know how to describe how much I love the effort my girls put out for my mom. There are no words, except thank-you more than you could possibly know.
