I so appreciate this free land we live in. Even with all the problems right now, there is no better place on the Earth to live!
I am grateful for a husband who has worked so hard this year to keep things going despite major conflicts with his partners. Lots of hard work, focus, and blessings from the Lord have culminated in the biggest sales months he has ever had. We've got a ways to go and the rollercoaster ride continues, but in spite of that, we are very grateful.
I am thankful for every single one of my children, their spouses and the grandkidlets. From the eldest to the youngest I can honestly say that I adore them and love them. They make me so proud. Each in their own way is a shining star in my life. My heaven is brighter because of each star. My mom, Hubby's mom and all our other relatives also bring special blessings that I am grateful for.
And this week, I again and so appreciative that my children (except for one) live so close. This week we had a lot of fun at our 2nd Sunday dinner. Everyone who usually comes was there, but naturally we missed Ben who reached his 14th month as an Elder for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in Kennewick, Washington. Here are some things we did on Sunday:
Grandma and daughter S creating a "We are Thankful for You, Elder Anderson" poster. Each person traced their hand like they did in pre-school and made a turkey out of it. I should have taken pictures of each one up close. Some were very. . .shall I say - Creative!
Little S, her papa and Uncle J creating their own artwork. J, the 1st Cougar's turkey had a Y on it (for BYU) and that turkey had taken a bite out of the Ute logo!
It was "I's" 9th birthday! Here she and her dad are making Brazilian Limeade which was very yummy. She had a happy day and got a new "beach" bike. That's a bike like the one I had in 2nd grade that I thought was totally UNCOOL. Now they are cool. I'm getting old!
S and J. What a cute couple!
Two year old Z cheesing for the camera!
Granddaughter A and her sister used to love dressing up in Disney Princess costumes. I think they have everyone ever created! While cleaning out their bedroom in preparation for new bedroom sets, they boxed up all the dresses and presented them to Little S. Here are A and S admiring themselves. S was delighted!
At "I's" request for her birthday we served grilled steaks. The kids brought baked potatoes, salad, zucchini casserole and limeade. It was delicious.
November is a big birthday month for us. It begins with J, the BBQ'r, then Grandad who had his birthday in heaven, followed by granddaughter I, then daughter S, then S, the superman runner, and finally Hubby.
There was much discussion about what part of that cute little caterpillar on top of the cake each grandkidlet got. Everyone wanted the blue and green pieces!
Here are the Three Musketeers - all two years old now! My, my how big they are getting!
That evening after everything was cleared away we had a delightful time playing with the two year olds. All the parents were sitting around and one by one everyone got down on the floor and played. Here is Uncle J being mauled by each of them.
He's such a good sport! S on his shoulders, Z on his right leg and M on his left.
These two and daughter M sneaked into the fridge and found some of the leftover meat. They hid back here to eat it! Caught ya!
These three aren't too old to bathe together yet and many times they all end up in the bubble bath when they are at the house.
Grandson J, the little Cougar, LOVES, LOVES, LOVES playing any kind of sport. Against Nana's wishes (I was very much overruled by Hubby and others!) a game of catch and tackle was carried out in the family room. I was so relieved that nothing broke (including the window which was hit many times!). Here Aunt S is chasing J and he loved it!
Me - at the end of every 2nd Sunday. Worn out but grateful and happy!
