Daughter M had this great idea to have a family game night on Dec. 30. The family game night turned into a sleepover, breakfast and Ute football watching party that went from Friday night to 2 PM on Saturday! It was a blast!
All families came except for J, the original Ute, who was away in El Paso watching Utah WIN!, J the BBQ'r, who had to work, and Elder B who was away in Washington doing more important things. Grand total - 17 bodies!
Each family brought various fun and food items. K brought M's new Mater car. All the triplets loved riding in it, but S really got a kick out of it!
The triplets enjoying the tot car and running into every wall they could find! (Yes, paint is needed!)

This game was really fun. It's called "Headbanz". You put a card with an object (bread, Mickey Mouse, Tinkerbell) on the headband but you don't know what the object is. You ask yes/no questions to guess it and if you do it in 60 seconds, you win!
Here N is Ariel from the Little Mermaid and A is Bambi
S was getting tired and J was playing with her hair which made her even sleepier!
At about 12:30 we heard some loud noise outside and went out to investigate. It was an amazing wind that was wreaking havoc outside, but also created some fun possibilities.
You can't see J, the Cougar, but he had the idea to tie a sheet to his legs and arms like when he was a kid and see if the wind could push him around. J, the other Ute, and his wife, were brave enough. J did it also, but his kept coming untied.
I think they look like giant marshmallows!
It's amazing that yours truly wasn't the first one nodding off! I took a short nap at about 10, but woke up all excited to be a late-nighter! Trust me, that is very rare! Being so proud of myself, I took my trusty Nikon and starting snapping pictures of the sleeping beauties.Zzzzzzz
Ssssss
These ARE Sleeping Beauties!
SHHHHH!
The morning after -
I used up almost the last of my pumpernickel meal and made some old-fashioned Wiens rye bread. It makes the BEST toast in the universe! Hubby made his delicous, artery clogging "griced potatoes."
No one looks too bad after that short night's sleep in strange beds...
I think we did at least three puzzles between Christmas Eve and New Year. I would be fired if I didn't have a puzzle around for the holidays!
I think the moral of this post is this. If you're a young mother with little kids around tearing up your house, eating your food, and fighting, don't expect that your house will be clean and your kids won't eat your food when they grow up. If you're LUCKY, you will WANT them to make a mess of your house and eat your food. What changes, if you're lucky and blessed like we are, is that they don't fight! They play. It's awesome and I can't tell you how much I love these mess-making, food-inhaling beings!
