This and That

January at our house is definitely a more laid back month than December.  I think that's good!  We do various things as shown below.

I am putting some blinds up in our garage's two windows and last Saturday and granddaughter, S, and her mommy were over.  Her mommy was painting a new bed for S in our basement and so, naturally, S wanted to be with me!

The work bench needed to be cleared in order to mount those blinds so S worked with me, wearing an old little girl coat I had saved for just such occasions, the old Santa mittens and random little girl hat from the hand me down box.  She worked HARD and looked so cute doing it!
These pictures are special for my mom.  Daughter K was the happy recipient of the old dishes we used to use at our cabin.  She had them specially shipped to her house and has put them up on display in her kitchen.
I love how this arrangement turned out.  She plans to put a shelf in the middle for some other items.
Shadow loves, loves, loves to go out with me on my walk-runs.  Even if it's rainy.  Even if it's freezing.  Even if it's snowing.  Even if there was an earthquake, a tornado and a volcano erupting all at once, Shadow would want to go with me walk-running!  It is rare for her to stop and sit when we are out, but I made her do it just so I could get this picture.
It's really nice to drive along the main road by where we live and have all the construction cones gone.  This used to be a two-lane road with an open ditch on the side for irrigation water, back in the day....(dang, I'm starting to sound like my Nana!).
Now, it's four lanes with a middle turn lane.  Very easy to drive, but I sorta miss the old road and that rural feel.
Sorry this is fuzzy - the new i-phone couldn't seem to focus this time.  Son J's wife threw a surprise graduation party for J last night.  It was fun to celebrate with them!
Okay, so now you know J's full name!!!!!  And where he went to school....and how smart he is....and how much perseverance he showed to finally get this degree.  Very happy for you, Jacob!
