Super Running Man and Good King N are Back!

Son-in-law S, the Superman runner, decided a few days before the Salt Lake Marathon that he was going to run it.  He had been training for a 50 miler that he wasn't going to be able to run, so he settled for the quick sprint on a marathon instead!  Haha!
M, his wife, their little girl S, Hubby and I drove around to several sites and I snapped a few pictures.
He works for Altra Running Shoes.  If you look closely you'll see that he is wearing prototypes on his feet - and each foot is wearing a different shoe!
He looped around at this park location so we were able to catch him twice.
We caught up with him at about 13 miles and he was still in 2nd.  He looked comfortable and the 3rd place runner was about 56 seconds behind him.
At our third spot we found S and J.  This was at about 18 miles.
S got to give her daddy a high 5!

There was such a crowd of people finishing the half marathon at the same time that S was finishing the entire marathon, that I didn't see him cross the finish!  Sorry, no picture.  Daughter K, and her husband and son made it to the finish and were gathered with the rest of our clan and many of S's family on a corner.  He sat down and we watched his calf muscle on his left leg spasm.  He didn't care that he was resting against a garbage can on hard, dirty concrete!
M was really proud of her husband!  So were all the rest of us!
We moved over to some grass where it was softer a few minutes later.  These two cousins were really happy to find each other!
Daughter K has the best massage technique!
I love that S took little S onto the stand to receive his trophy!  He has done this at several races.  Little S was a little intimidated by all the people looking at her, but big S was cheesing it up.  He's amazing and deserves to be smiling!
Now we find out that he's still planning to run that 50 miler THIS WEEKEND!  I just shake my head!
After cheering S on to a fantastic 2nd place finish, we made it back just in time to see grandson N (Good King N)'s baseball game.
His team consists of young ones like N, who are 5 or 6, up to 8.  This is N's first year after t-ball.
We got to see him get on base!  He has gotten on base in every game so far!

Yes, winter is definitely gone.  Good riddance!  This last week was fun!
