How Fair

It has been months of blood, sweat and tears for son-in-law, J, the BBQ'r and his wife, K.  J has always been an incredible cook.  He also has won many awards at BBQ competitions.  Recently he has been working toward owning and operating his own food catering business and has been fixing up a customized trailer.

At the Utah State Fair, he is finally realizing his dream.  Daughter K  and kidlet M, with baby-on-board and I all went up to see and work the event on Saturday.

 K and M
There is the master chef in the doorway with his helper.  On the right is the serving window.  In the foreground is the soda machine.  On the left by the worker is the fryer, grill and other appliances and shelves.  Outside is the smoker.
A view from the other end.  I worked the window and soda machine.  They have a great I-Pad app that calculates the order and change.  It is a great set-up.
I worked hard with no let up for about 2 1/2 hours and we sold out of turkey legs.  We also offered smoked chicken sandwiches, sausage sandwiches, fries, chilli and cheese fries and sodas.
J has gotten many compliments on his trailer.  It's great looking.
On the left of the window is the menu that we worked on last weekend.

I am very proud of K and J for the work they have done to achieve this dream.  I wish them much good-luck!

  1. Mom, thank you so much for your help that night! It made such a difference and took some stress away from us. You are a great example of Christlike service.
