Willing Hands

In preparation for the homecoming of youngest, missionary son, B, some youth from our area made us their service project for the evening!  Since Hubby has been sick, and I have had more responsibility, a veritable jungle has grown in the un-landscaped part of our backyard.  The boys helped clear out all of those nasty weeds!  There were about ten boys and about 6 leaders and they worked for an hour.  Yours truly worked, too, but without them it would have taken me ten times as long, at least!  We are very grateful.
BEFORE - Note all of the weeds up by the neighbor's fence and the little everygreen trees.

AFTER - No weeds!
BEFORE - Note all of the weeds on the top of the rock wall and to the left by the neighbor's fence.

 AFTER - Nothin but dirt!
We'd sure love to have our backyard all nicely landscaped, but short of that, it's so wonderful to get rid of all those stickery weeds.  This weekend - a large dose of Round-up because those little stinkers are trying to come back!

Hubby and grandson, N, shared a few minutes of the Utah vs. BYU game a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed some ice cream.
N is a huge Ute fan.  Grandpa is a Y fan, but if you share an ice cream, even enemies are friends!  But these two are the greatest sports with each other.  It was a fun night even though the Y lost.  N knows so much about the game for a 6 year old!!!
M and S dropped by.  This is such a typical picture of daughter M.  She is always teaching and leading her little girl.  She's a great mommy.
