Thousands of Words Unsaid!

If a picture speaks a thousand words, then here are about a million!
We've got pictures of my shoulder from before the surgery to the taking out of the IV for pain medication three days later, then Baby Z's blessing, and before that K's Baby Shower for Baby M who is due in the next two weeks -

This one is before they got me drugged in Same Day Surgery.  Note the lovely leggings, sexy gown and cozy golden socks!  Couldn't eat or drink after midnight, got to the hospital at 10:30 and I don't think they started the surgery till about 1:45.  I was SO thirsty.

You can tell they've put something warm and fuzzy in the IV!  This is still before surgery.

Notice the happy, drugged smile!!!

This was my set-up at home with the Kodiak Polar pack pumping cold water into a wrap on my shoulder.  It's awesome and really keeps the swelling down.

Here's my shoulder three days later.  The purple lines are what the doctor drew to guide him during the arthroscopy.  There are three "portals" where they inserted saline, another for a tiny camera and another for the doctor's tiny tools.  The home health nurse is removing that itty bitty tube that pumped local anesthetic into the joint at pre-determined intervals day and night.  I could add more when I needed to.  I didn't realize how great it worked until it had been out for a few hours.

My wounds weren't bleeding at this point.  I had to leave the steri-strips over the stitches.

I was really worried that pulling the tube out would hurt, but it didn't - not one itty bitty bit!

Next are some pictures of Baby Z's blessing day.  It was lovely!
