Wonderful Thing #1 - Two birthdays on one day
It's hard to believe that Good King N the soccer phenom is already five! He and daughter M share the same birthday, May 29th. On their 5 year birthdays, I always make a personalized blanket for each of my grandchildren. I didn't get his started until the day before and I couldn't get it finished in time, but we did go over to visit and sing happy birthday.
We gave him some gifts
And had birthday cake
Birthday Girl Daughter M, Little S, D and Birthday boy N making their birthday wishes. Daughter M, who is older than I want to admit (but very young in spirit) chose some home decorating items for her house as her gift. It's fun that I can still teach her how to do some things. Pictures of what we did in a later post.
After a great trip (see below) to Tuacahn, I finally finished up N's blanket.
He thought it was great and will use it during his soccer games.
Wonderful Utah Thing #2 - Smiling Baby I
Dare ya not to be smiling back!
Happy Daddy, Happy Baby
Crazy Daddy, Crazy Son
Z isn't quite as crazy as his daddy or his brother!
Weird Summer in Utah Things #1 - Birds take over our barbeque grill!
We opened the grill one day and found a whole bunch of straw. Hubby threw it away and we grilled our steaks. Then the next week I opened it and discovered the birds who put the first bunch of straw in there were not deterred from being parents! They did it again in about 3 days and now there are 6 eggs in the nest. We don't have the heart to kill the eggs, so we will be frying steaks or using the broiler for a while!
Weird Summer in Utah Things #2 - Snow in June?
This summer has been slow in coming. The other day the sunny sky darkened and soon after we heard and saw this:
It used to amaze me everytime a thunderstorm would start dropping "snow" in the summer. I know it's not snow, but it sorta looks like it! If I hadn't been busy, I might have gone out and had a snow cone!
Inevitably after the hail, we get rain. It had been a hard day and I wasn't feeling so great, but when S and Daughter M were over, I decided to be impulsive. It definitely lifted my spirits to act like a kid again.
We got soaked, but it was totally worth it to splash in the puddles with my girls.
Wonderful in Utah Thing #3 - Tuacahn
For Christmas Elder B's girlfriend gave us tickets to see The Little Mermaid at Tuacahn, the outdoor amphitheater in St. George for June. It turned out that her parents were also going to be there and also her grandparents. We met them there and have a lovely evening.
It is such a beautiful setting for the event!
We enjoyed our time there and the company. It was time for a little rest for both Hubby and me!
